Course Duration


Since candidates study at his or her own time and pace, it is impossible to give an exact time for how long it will take an individual candidate to complete the course of study for each study level. More experienced and well-qualified candidates can be expected to study much more quickly than managers who have only had a few years working experience.

The minimum and maximum time (and approximate number of study days) normally required to complete each course of study is as follows:

Stage 1: International Green Belt

Study Time: Minimum of 77 hours (10 days) / Maximum 137 hours (18 days)

  • Studying Praxis Videos (Normal Study Time 14 Hours)
  • Studying Sourcematix® Animated Demonstration Videos (Normal Study Time 3 hours)
  • Case Study Material (Minimum of 24 hours / Maximum of 48 hours)
  • Process (Theory) Help Reading Material (Minimum of 24 hours / Maximum of 48 hours)
  • Tutor On-Line Support (Minimum of 4 hours / Maximum of 8 hours)
  • Preparing 4 Project Reports for Assessment (Minimum of 8 hours / Maximum of 16 hours)

Stage 2: International Red Belt

Study Time: Minimum of 40 hours (5 days) / Maximum 145 hours (18 days)

  • Studying Praxis Videos (If required again: Normal Study Time 14 hours)
  • Studying Sourcematix® Animated Demo Videos (If required again: Normal Study Time 3 hours)
  • Case Study Material (Minimum of 30 hours / Maximum of 60 hours)
  • Process (Theory) Help Reading Material (If required: Minimum of 24 hours / Maximum of 48 hours)
  • Tutor On-Line Support (Minimum of 2 hours / Maximum of 4 hours)
  • Preparing 4 Project Reports for Assessment (Minimum of 8 hours / Maximum of 16 hours)

Stage 3: International Black Belt

Study Time: Minimum of 80 hours (10 days) / Maximum 160 hours (20 days)

  • Studying Theory Videos (Normal Study Time 9 Hours)
  • Revision for the Examination (Minimum of 24 hours to a Maximum of 48 Hours)
  • Examination (3 hours)
  • Dissertation (Miniumum of 40 hours to a Maximum of 80 hours)
  • Tutor On-Line Support (Minimum of 4 hours / Maximum of 20 hours)

Combined International Green, Red & Black Belt Study Time

  • Minimum of 197 Hours (25 Days) / Maximum of 442 Hours (56 Days)
  • Students have online access to tutors by email and telephone for any issues they may have while studying
  • The balance of hours is: 20% video/tutorial support and 80% self-learning hours
